Who Are We?

A Supportive Community to Help YOU Reach Your Recovery Goals

Resilient Roots Recover (Triple R) is Private supportive recovery for women experiencing drug/alcohol addiction issues. We are a 6 bed boutique recovery house for addictions. At Triple R we work one-on-one with you and build a detailed helping relationship.

We are located in the beautiful town of Ladysmith BC. We chose Ladysmith because it is easy to navigate, friendly with a strong community base. We are 20 minutes from the bustling city of Nanaimo B.C., and only an hour away from our Provinces Capital, Victoria.

Our style is that of a holistic nature, versatile and we do not believe you can put people in a box. We also believe that structure is paramount in the healing journey. We approach every individual as a unique being with their own set of resilient characteristics. We will honour the program that you come to us with or we can develop a helping plan that best fits your needs.

We are not a detox centre — We offer a safe and healing structured and supported inpatient recovery house. What does this mean? You are medically stable. Free from the clutches of substance mis-use for at least 30 days. Moreover, you need to be willing to remain clean and engage in weekly in-house support groups, continued education and counselling, life skills development, recreational activities and be integral part of our community. We will help you transition to a life of independence and a life that fits your potential. Receive one-on-one daily counselling/support. We also help with job/carrier planning and seeking, housing needs, clinical family support programs, hands-on guidance and much more.

Indigenous Culturally Informed Support

Resilient Roots Recovery is a mindful, Indigenous and culturally sensitive addiction recovery house for women in British Columbia (BC), Canada. We have a thoughtful, trauma-informed, and community-rooted approach. We blend proven addiction treatment methods (Readiness for Change, AA, NA, Smart Recovery, CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, etc.,) with Indigenous ways of knowing, healing, and community. Here are some examples of how we can help connect you with the Ladysmith, Cowichan Valley, Duncan and Vancouver Island Indigenous communities:

1. Indigenous Cultural Integration

  • Elders and Knowledge Keepers: Involve local Elders and Knowledge Keepers as advisors, spiritual guides, and facilitators.

  • Traditional Healing Practices:

    • Smudging, drumming, sweat lodges, cedar brushing.

    • Land-based healing (e.g., fishing, plant medicine walks, gardening.)

  • Cultural Safety: Ensure all staff are trained in cultural safety and humility, not just cultural awareness.

  • Language and Storytelling: Include language revitalization programs and storytelling circles for cultural reconnection and trauma healing.

2. Trauma-Informed and Gender-Specific Care

  • Trauma-Informed Design: Physical spaces should feel safe, home-like, and free of institutional design. Avoid harsh lighting, locks, or institutional signage.

  • Women-Centred Programs:

    • Programs addressing sexual trauma, domestic violence and parenting.

    • Peer-led support and mentorship by other Indigenous women in recovery.

3. Holistic and Integrated Services
